New One / George Adams

This is Paradise Blush.  I planted it in the spring.     I am a bit worried about how it will do, after what happened last winter.   But some of the ones I didn`t expect to do well, really surprised me, So I figured I would give it a try
It has a really nice flower form,  The flowers don`t last as long as some of the fall bloomers. But it is pretty

Korean Fire- correction

I stated earlier that all the flowers on my Korean Fire plants had been killed this winter.
That was not true .  There were a lot of hidden buds that did eventually bloom......... Very Late.
The end of  May to be precise .
So I had Korean fire and some others , blooming on Labor day.........How strange.  I have never seen that before

Bridget sent this photo on May first.
It did well for her this year

The Lost Season

How disappointing this camellia season has proven to be.   After a Brutal and Relentless Winter.   I have had some plants die, and most of my flowers were also killed.
The flower buds that have not been killed are still not blooming at the end of April.    They normally start at the beginning
But there have been some very interesting surprises.   Some plants that I was very worried about making it. Came through the winter with very little damage , and two of them are going to bloom...........eventually.
here is the list    Iwane Shibori
                                                             Tama Gasumi
                                                              Sunnyside
                                                              Double Rainbow
                                                              Grace Albritton
                                                              October Affair

As an example of how bizarre and unexpected things are.   All the flower buds on my Korean Fire ( zone 6)  plants have died.........  Yet Sunnyside ( a plant which I am not sure of the hardiness rating) is going to flower.   Grace Albritton is also going to flower

Lets hope things are better next year
