Larry Bates Nursery

      The Larry Bates Nursery, is doing a great service for those of us looking for harder to find camellias.   They sell very nice healthy plants at reasonable prices.  Be aware that camellias sent through the mail, are generally kind of small.  But of all the places I have ordered from, the ones that came from Larry Bates have been the largest , and have a nice full shape.

I have had two experiences ordering from the Larry Bates Nursery, and both were exceptional.

They have great customer service, and are very attentive.

When ordering in the spring, do it early .

Because I think that they stop shipping sometime in late April

Also be aware that not all of the plants that they sell, will be hardy here. Since they are in Louisiana

So do your research before selecting plants

Suzuki`s Cameillia / George Adams

I have exciting news.............

about 3 years ago,  Jim brought in some seedlings that he grew from seeds that Suzuki brought in.from his yard .  The one that I received is blooming for the first time, and it is Beautiful !    
           It is blooming now, because I have it indoors.  I didn`t want to plant it out till it grew a bit bigger.
